One of the typical signs that you are behind a firewall is if you launch the platform and after entering your proper login details and clicking "connect", the software does not respond in any way.
Before assuming you are behind a firewall, it is always a good idea to ensure an Internet connection has been established prior to attempting to launch the software. To do this simply open a browser window (e.g. Internet Explorer), and go to a web-site you have never visited. (For example: http://www.canada.com)
No matter what kind of firewall you have, you will need to configure it to allow the computers within it to open outgoing TCP sockets which permission network users to use the software. Computers on the internal local area network will need access to the Domain Name System (DNS) servers to resolve the names of external hosts.
A network administrator, needs to open the following ports:
- 3200 to 3210
- 3500 to 3510
- 3550 to 3560
To check on your connection please launch do the following:
1. Click on the blue button labeled CONNECTION on your PeakAccess platform.
2. Maximize the TCP/IP Connection window by dragging the bottom right corner of the window with you mouse.
3. Check to see if you are connected in the blue box in the connection screen.
